The Gates Foundation & PolioPlus Partnership

Andrew Stein is a Senior Program Officer on the Polio team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation focusing on improving polio outbreak response and program innovations. Prior to the Gates Foundation Andrew was a Technical Officer for Program Management for the Polio Eradication Program at the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office in Africa in Brazzaville, Congo on secondment from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Prior to WHO, he worked for 5 years as a Public Health Advisor in polio and global immunization based in Atlanta, Georgia. Andrew is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and served for 2 years in Eswatini supporting community based health and HIV prevention efforts. Andrew earned a master’s degree in public health from Boston University and a master’s degree in management from the University of Georgia.
